NUTRITION CARNIVAL

Whether your planning a carnival for your school or teaching nutrition in your classroom, the Nutrition and Physical Activity Carnival Kit will provide plenty of education activities. The Carnival was pilot tested at the Roughrider Health Promotion Conference in 1996 at Medora where the response was overwhelmingly positive.  A guidebook is also available to complement the kit or used on its own. This kit and/or guidebook will help to educate students and community members about this in a classroom size or larger setting. It is now available for loan through the Teacher Center as well as through the North Dakota Department of Health.

The kit includes posters for each of 15 carnival booths, game sheets, and a how-to manual. All the materials are provided with the exception of food items, stickers, and prizes. The carrying case measures 1 1/2" x 38" x 25".  For more information about the Carnival Kit, or to reserve dates to use it, contact the Teacher Center at (701) 845-7221 or email us at sandy.zahn@sendit.nodak.edu.

Why a Carnival?

Now more than ever, people are understanding the phrase " Nutrition and Physical Activity Go Hand-In-Hand." Healthy eating habits and increased physical activity help improve quality of life and reduce disease. For information from the Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition click here.
